Systems Research Group

The Systems Research Group at the Department of Computer Science, University of Ioannina consists of computer science faculty and graduate students conducting research in systems software. The group has extensive experience in the analytical and experimental study of

• Storage systems
• Data grids
• Streaming servers
• Content distribution networks and
• Multiprocessor operating systems

in the context of

• Video-on-demand problems
• Medical image applications
• Monitoring of physical and computational infrastructures
• Geographical information systems
• etc.

The group operates its own testbed facility consisting of several rack-mounted servers and reliable storage space. SRG is interested to contribute to research efforts related to media networking and storage virtualization over wide-area networks, operating systems functionality for multi-core architectures and infrastructure monitoring systems.
